Heute wäre Michael White 65 Jahre alt geworden – schade, dass wir ihm dazu nicht mehr gratulieren können. Zum Geburtstag bringt systemagazin einen Artikel von Michael White mit dem Titel„Narrative Practice and the Unpacking of Identity Conclusions“, der 2001 in „Gecko: A Journal of Deconstruction and Narrative Ideas in Therapeutic Practice“ erschienen ist, (Heft 1, S. 28-55). Der Artikel beginnt mit einer ausführlichen Fallgeschichte, dann kommt Michael White darauf zu sprechen, was mit dem „Unpacking of Identity Conclusions“ gemeint ist: „Externalizing conversations, like the one I have just described, represent just one possibility of many in a range of narrative practices. They are by no means a requirement of narrative therapy and, in fact, externalizing conversations are very often absent in my own work with the people who consult me. But they can be very helpful in the unpacking of some of the very negative identity conclusions that people bring with them into therapy.“
